On the cover: Andrew Sims captured this great photo of Rives Potts’ McCurdy & Rhodes 48 Carina (Westbrook CT) at the start of the Newport Bermuda Race on June 18. Carina has completed 19 Bermuda Races (more than any other boat in the 104-year history of the event) having won her first in 1970. Sailed this year by an all-amateur crew comprising mostly members of the Potts and Crump families, she finished the 635-nauical mile race 60 miles ahead of her nearest rival in Class 3. © wavelengthstudios.com.
