Turning the Tide Against CancerFayerweather Yacht Club (FYC) in Bridgeport, CT will host the Park City Regatta on Saturday, July 17. The event, sponsored by Innovative Insurance, LLC of Fairfield, CT, BMW of Bridgeport, Captain’s Cove Seaport, Mount Gay Rum and WindCheck and presented by FYC, Black Rock Yacht Club in Bridgeport and Housatonic Boat Club in Stratford, supports the St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation’s SWIM Across the Sound, Connecticut’s premier cancer charity.
Two races are scheduled for PHRF Spinnaker and Non- Spinnaker divisions., One-design classes with four or more entries may be given their own division and start. The skippers meeting begins at 10am in the FYC Penfield Room, the harbor start is at 11 and the first warning is at noon. A picnic on the FYC lawn kicks off at 4pm with an awards presentation, prizes, raffle and live music.
Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third in each division and to the five boats that raise the most funds. The top fundraiser will be awarded the Jan Williams Memorial Trophy, a perpetual trophy on display at Captain’s Cove.
The FYC/BRYC Invitational Regatta follows on Sunday, July 18. Free overnight dockage for the Park City Regatta participants is available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at FYC (space permitting; be prepared to raft up).
